ABOUT APPS
“Association of Professional Performing Singers (West Bengal)” (Short Name : APPS) was formed / established on 16th March, 1993, registered _under West Bengal Societies Act XXVI of 1961. Registration No. S/73491. It is merely an Welfare Organisation for Professional Performing Singers, West Bengal.
Inspiration
The cultural heritage of Bengal as well as the contributions of the Legends to the cause of cultural movement has inspired the singers to give a shape to the formation of this Association. At present (in the year 2011), this Association, comprising of 400 singer members, is a biggest Association for Professional Singers in West Bengal.
Cause Behind
The cultural bankruptcy has, of fact, exposed the masses to the moral degradation. The time has co ink for the posterity in the right perspective, so it that they can live in a and peaceful society.
Organisation
This Association was established for the purposes set forth in the Memorandum of Association, with its General Members, Patrons, Life members. Association has been delighted as well as felt proud by giving Hon’y Life Membership to the Senior and Legend – Singers of West Bengal like: Smt. Suchitra Mitra, Sri Manna Dey, Sri Ramkumar Chattopadhyay, Geetasri Sandhya Mukhopadhyay, Smt. Chhabi Bandyopadhyay, Sri Dwijen Mukhopadhyay, Sri Satinath Mukhopadhyay, Smt. Juthika Y Roy, Sri Purna Chandra Das Baul, Smt. Utpala Sen, Smt Gayatri Bose, Sri Amar Pal, . Smt. Madhuri Chatterjee, Smt. Nirmala Mishra, Sri Dhiren Bose, Sri Jatileswar Mukherjee, Sri Ajoy Das, Sri Mrinal Banerjee, Smt. Purba Dam and many more.
Aims and Objectives
- • To protect collective interest of the Professional Performing Singers of West Bengal against any odd.
- • To render need-based financial assistance to the distressed performing singers.
- • To help singers / artiste in every way possible.
- • To achieve national solidarity and cultural unity.
- • To co-operate with an movement for cultural upliftment and for peace and international unity consistent with aims and objects as stated above. The income of the Association will be utilised for the purpose of the Society and for the benefit of distressed performing singers. No portion shall be distributed amongst the members.
